Lettuce Grow is a Wiltshire-based social enterprise offering

therapeutic gardening sessions for children and young people in schools and private sessions.

We use gardening as a tool to support mental health,

emotional wellbeing and learning.

Our sessions combine hands-on gardening and food growing with seasonal nature activities and time to connect with nature.

Therapeutic Gardening

in Schools

Our school programmes run throughout the academic year, offering regular sessions that support children and young people.

Working in small groups, we facilitate sessions based around food growing, wildlife gardening and nature-based activities.

These sessions are designed to maximise the benefits of therapeutic gardening  whilst also learning valuable food growing skills and experiencing the benefits of calm, purposeful time in nature.

A school allotment is an ideal setting but most outdoor spaces in schools can be adapted to work for gardening sessions.

Therapeutic Gardening

for Groups

We offer bespoke therapeutic gardening sessions for children and young people who may benefit from additional support outside of the classroom.

These private sessions are ideal for those experiencing anxiety, low confidence, emotional regulation difficulties or simply needing a calm, nurturing space to connect with nature.

We provide a safe and welcoming environment where children can slow down, feel heard and grow in confidence through hands-on gardening, nature-based play and seasonal outdoor activities.

We offer both day time and after-school sessions.

1-2-1 Therapeutic Gardening Sessions

Our 1-2-1 sessions offer children a calm, supportive space to work at their own pace. These personalised sessions are ideal for children who may feel overwhelmed in group settings or need focused emotional support.

Through gentle, hands-on gardening and nature-based activities, we help children build confidence, improve emotional regulation and experience the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors.

Each session is tailored to the child’s needs and interests, led by a trained practitioner in a safe, nurturing environment.

We offer both day time and after-school sessions.

Whether it’s planting seeds, harvesting veg or simply being mindful in a green space, we create safe, welcoming environments where people flourish.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

The children have absolutely loved the sessions you’ve so kindly provided to the school this year. We feel they’ve had an amazing impact on the children involved and they ALWAYS look forward to seeing you. Thank you so much for doing this for us and for them.

- Ben Everitt,

St Michael's School, Aldbourne

I love planting seeds and watching things grow from tiny weenie shoots up to big plants and then watching the flowers come out and the vegetables grow. I have lots of fun learning all the things about gardening from Eleanor.

- Audrey, age 8

Lettuce Grow Participant

It was wonderful to watch my daughter's confidence increase after learning about gardening. Each visit seemed to help HER grow, as she came home clutching another pot of seedlings armed with more new and interesting opinions, hypotheses and full of gardening information.
